It also comes complete with a beveled, front edge to facilitate smooth transitions of the miter gauge as it moves over the edge of the table.
No matter the size or thickness of the work piece, the Powermatic 64A's exclusive 3VX belt offers increased efficiency--especially when compared to standard belts--and less vibration for smooth operation. And when dealing with wider stock, users will appreciate the T-slot miter gauge with positive stops.
Versatile, Expandable Design
For versatility, two cast-iron wings, a wood extension table with melamine surface, and an independent leaf safety guard come standard, while a lockable push-button switch with removable safety key protects against accidental starts.
And to help get you started right away, the quick-connect power cord reduces assembly time.
Accu-Fence with 50-Inch Rip Capacity
The Powermatic 64A comes equipped with an Accu-Fence with a rip capacity of 50 inches to the right of the blade for reliable accuracy and to help make each job faster and more precise. This fence length is particularly ideal for a home shop where space may be an issue.
For greater speed and accuracy, an interior spring applies constant pressure when not locked down, which takes the slop out of fence movement. Replaceable sides with easy-access screws allow for quick adjustment close to the tabletop, so nothing will slip underneath.

The Powermatic 64A measures 32 x 34 x 70 inches (W x H x D), weighs 343 pounds, and is backed by a five-year warranty.

I got the confirmation that it did ship and about a week and a half later the saw arrived on a pallet. I didn't have to pay extra for the drop gate truck and the driver used a pallet jack to roll it into my garage (sorry, workshop).
I spent a couple of nights putting it together, not because it was difficult but because of other demands on my time. I installed it on an HTM 2000 mobile base, got a good blade (the one that comes with it (Green Blade brand) is ok, I guess), and I even broke down and got A Power Twist belt that everyone raves about (BE WARNED be sure you get the 3/8 inch belt, most places offer the 1/2 belt and it doesn't fit).
The assembly was straightforward. The instructions were, for the most part, clear, although some of the drawings could be better. I was able to set the saw up myself, but it is very heavy and you really should have help. You don't want to hurt yourself, and you surely don't want to drop the saw!! I now have it aligned and making sawdust but if I had my druthers I would opt for a different mobile base.
This one has two cam handles to lift it. With no extension table installed, it works fine, lifting the saw with little effort. With the extra weight of the table and the leverage on that side of the saw, jacking up the saw on the casters is very hard. As you may suspect, the table legs don't reach the floor, with the saw on the base even when unscrewed all the way (why can't they add an extra inch or so of bolt?). I had to use a length of wood for support of the end of the table when I work.
(I've since taken the mobile base out and put together a caster setup that lets the saw stand on its own legs. It also offers better movement with four swivel casters) Even with the saw on its own legs the legs barely reach the floor!
At first, I was afraid that the 50 inch fence would be too long. From end to end it's 83 inches. I think the extra length is definitely worth it, but you have to evaluate your own situation.
As I said, the saw passed the 'nickel test' the CMT blade cuts beautifully, the table and extensions are beautifully flat, and I'm looking forward to working on the list of honey-do projects that sprouted up since I ordered the saw.
The miter fence that comes with the saw is CHEAP. Once I tweaked the 90 deg and the 45 deg stops it works, although time will tell how well it stays accurate. (I've found that once you move it, be prepared to do a number of practice cuts to get it back in line). Angles in between are a crap shoot. I'm saving my money for a third party fence like an Incra Miter.
Two table inserts are also included. The saw blade insert has a cavernous opening, so I'll probably be making some zero clearance inserts. I believe I'll get a lot of enjoyment and use out of this saw. I just wish I had one earlier.
